Last month we took a trip to the ICC in Birmingham for the annual #SBS winners event hosted by Theo Paphitis.

The whole day was just for #SBS winners who were able to take advantage of several exclusive offers (from Rymans, DHL, Robert Dyas, iLaw, 123-Reg and Red Letter Days) and listen to a number of inspirational speakers including Theo himself who discussed a range of topics including Brexit and the new US president.

Those of us who won recently collected our awards from Theo;

The launch of Shop #SBS was exciting, as it is a website we can all visit to browse and purchase artisan goods from all the winners. There is a wide variety of gifts, foods, accessories, wedding products and household items including a pet section. A huge variety of goods for sale, something for everyone really.

There was also a talk from a fellow SBS winner Jodine Boothby who is the inventor of the Gummee Glove and now many other products. She gave an honest and very amusing talk about how Gummee Mummee came to be and the trials and tribulations she experienced along the way. It was clear how her passion and enthusiasm has helped Jodine make such a success of her business.

The day culminated with a Question Time session where anyone in the audience was encouraged to ask questions of Theo and the other panel members Deborah Meaden (fellow Dragon) and John Mills (founder of JML Direct). It was great to hear such successful people answer questions from the floor, we were even brave enough to ask one ourselves!

We are big fans of #SBS and would really urge you all to take a look at the #SBS website and enter too.  All you need to do is send a tweet to Theo between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on a Sunday evening and if he chooses your tweet to retweet you could be at this great event next year!
