Last month we attended the 100% Optical trade show for opticians and ophthalmologists held at the Excel Centre in London.
Over the course of 3 very busy days, we were visited on our stand by existing and potential new stockists. After selecting and making a cardboard display, we printed and arranged eye-catching images to form the backdrop of our stand and showcase our ranges.
We decided to exhibit this year to show our new 7eye dry glasses and Tear Restore open-eye thermal eye mask. These are both great problem-solving product ranges for opticians to recommend in dry eye consultations and clinics.

Before the event….
The pre-event exposure included a description of our product range available to order and stock by opticians. This worked well to direct delegates to visit our stand.
In addition to 7eye and Tear Restore mentioned above, we showcased;
We also arranged to sponsor the catwalk shows throughout the weekend with our prescription goggles and dry eye glasses worn by the models. This helped us to narrow down the options and choose a stand situated opposite the catwalk.
Post-show activities
The event was a success in terms of meeting our stockists and contacts face-to-face and showing them more of our ranges and display stands. It was a great way to get across the unique selling points of each range and for delegates to view them in person. For example, the quality of the 7eye dry eye glasses, both the frames and lenses could be easily ascertained by actually handling and assessing them. The same was true for our prescription goggles and for Eye Care Cosmetics, a full set of testers allowed for colour and feel to be compared.

Our order books were busy with new stockists and existing ones taking advantage of the discounts available. Equally, we visited our suppliers to place discounted orders and to view potential new products for ourselves.
On Saturday night, we were kindly invited to join our industry friends hosted by The Body Doctor for a karaoke and bowling meet-up at Brick Lane. It was great to chat with fellow exhibitors and feel the buzz of optics and trade continue from the show floor to the busy bar.
